If you’re new to either IRC (Internet Relay Chat) or new to OUR IRC channel, please take a moment to read the following notes to ensure the most pleasant experience and to ensure you’re not automatically kicked out of the channel by our automated bots:
- Your Name: By default, when you connect using the provided client, you will be assigned a default nick name for the channel. Please go to the bottom right area of the chat client and type your nickname (no spaces please) there then hit enter. Doing this will change it from the default giving you a unique nickname in the channel and will keep you from getting kicked by the bot on duty. The bot on duty is programmed to kick any user that has the generic name for more than 2 minutes.
- Interacting with Others: Please ensure you’re polite and respect others. Anyone not following these simple courtesies will be banned and your account on YouWantThat.com will be permanently banned and deleted. Be friendly.
- Comments: Leave general and brief comments for topics on the web site. IRC should be used as follows: provide suggestions to admins or the site for new topics, discuss topics listed in more detail, if you have questions about a topic that wasn’t addressed in the review/commentary,
