You Want That!

FAQ

[Q:]
Why would I want to register at www.youwantthat.com ?
[A:]

You may chose to read the posts by checking back periodically or register and be notified automatically for new posts and customize your notifications.  Other reasons for registering include the following:

  • You’ll be able to setup specific preferences for your registered account.
  • You’ll get access to the private IRC java client so you can communicate via IRC with other users and channels on irc.freenode.net!
  • You’ll be able to subscribe to certain categories within the blog and be notified via e-mail, in case you’re not an RSS user, of newly created posts that might interest you.
  • To protect the blog.  The blog is an online publication and suseptable to SPAM and unwanted traffic.  By having users register and login to comment it helps protect the blog from unwanted activity.
  • To project users from inappropriate posts.  We might not be able to protect everyone from everything but if a registered user begins to get out of line, we can suspend the account and eliminate the inappropriate content.
  • You will have the ability to customize certain aspects of your viewing experience at www.youwantthat.com

NOTE:  We will not sell nor distribute your e-mail address to third parties.

Why won’t the Java IRC client work for me?
[A:]

  • Try to update Java on your system by visiting http://www.sun.com
  • You might not be logged in to YouWantThat!
  • Java could be “broken” on your system.  Please visit another site that requires Java and see if it works.  You may also go to http://www.sun.com and test for Java.
